Teen Interview Skills Workshop Registration Deadline

Are you a high school student looking for work or preparing for college?

Join this free workshop to develop confidence, knowledge, and skills needed to excel in any interview!

Event Date:

Saturday, November 23, 10:00am - 2:00pm with a virtual pre-orientation and resume workshop on Tuesday, November 5, 3:00pm - 5:00pm.

Cornell Cooperative Extension Rockland County, 10 Patriot Hills Drive, Stony Point, NY 10980

Facilitated By:

Counselors, Educators, and Volunteers with Rockland Works

Tentative Agenda:

• 10:00am – 11:00am: Welcome / Interview Workshop
• 11:00am – 1:00pm: Mock Interviews (30-minute timeslots)
• 11:00am – 1:00pm: When not in in interviews, youth will participate in three, 30-minute workshops focused on:
  • Resume Review
  • Professionalism in the Workplace
  • Career Exploration
• 1:00pm – 2:00pm: Full Group Wrap-Up:
  • Evaluator and youth reflections
  • Discussion of services – Rockland Works, Youth Bureau, CCE Rockland, Jack & Jill, other employers
  • Q & A

Attire:

Youth should be dressed in business casual or business formal attire.

Refreshments:

Light refreshments will be provided throughout the day. Youth are welcome to bring a packed lunch.

Registration:

The registration form for this event includes 4-H enrollment forms, which will open opportunities for youth at the local, regional, state, and national levels.
