4-H Public Presentations Event - In-Person and Virtual Options!

  • Saturday, March 1, 2025, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Are you nervous about speaking in front of people? Would you like to develop skills for school and future careers?

The 4-H Public Presentation Event is a fun way to meet others, learn new skills, and enhance your self-confidence!

Who: Enrolled 4-H members ages 5-18. Not enrolled? Contact Kristin Ruggiero to enroll for free!

The Categories for 4-H Presentations Include:

  1. Demonstration - Show and explain how to do or make something
  2. Illustrated Talk - Use visual aids to tell about a topic (PowerPoint, poster, models, etc.)
  3. Formal Speech - Persuade, motivate or inform the audience without the use of visuals
  4. Recitation - Perform a piece of pre-written material (monologue, poem, essay, etc.)
  5. Dramatic Interpretation - A presenter or team of two re-enacts of a piece of scripted material. Should include props and costumes. Original pieces are accepted
  6. Interview Process - 4-H teens will undergo a simulated job or college entrance interview with a volunteer evaluator. Includes resume, cover letter, application, and face-to-face interview

On the day of the event, you will present your presentation to two trained evaluators, who will offer valuable feedback to help you improve your skills. The 4-H Public Presentation Event is not a competition, but an opportunity to practice speaking in front of others.

Unable to make it on March 1st? Submit your presentation virtually by Sunday, March 2nd!
