Horticulture Diagnostic Lab

While our offices are closed to the public, our Horticultural Diagnostic Lab is available to answer your questions. You may drop off a plant specimen for diagnosis or insect for identification at our office. Lab Director Michael Wilson will contact you with the results and answer any questions. Horticulture Lab Hours:

April - October:

Monday– Thursday

9:00am – 2:00pm

November - March:

Monday – Thursday

9:00am– Noon

The Horticulture Lab of Cornell Cooperative Extension offers numerous services to residents of Rockland County. The Lab offers environmentally friendly and sustainable methods of advice for a multitude of problems.

Advice available on the following (but not limited to):

  • Gardening, plant selection, and yard care
  • Plant and pest problems (ex. deer, rodents, spider mites)
  • pH soil testing -please follow our Sampling Procedures
  • Indoor pest identification and treatment
  • Tick Identification and Management
  • Composting
