Crops in Pots: Growing Vegetables in Containers for Seniors

Even without a large garden, organically grown vegetables are possible on patios, balconies and decks. By using large containers, rich soil, and proper watering techniques, lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, and other vegetables can be grown steps away from the kitchen. This program not only will discuss the various ways to successfully grow vegetables in containers, but also will demonstrate the method to plant a tomato container which some lucky senior will take home.

Vivienne Dieckmann, Master Gardener Volunteer, will be delivering this presentation highlighting the ease of growing vegetables in containers for seniors. This workshop is part of the Power of Age event produced by Rockland County Office for the Aging and Rockland County Community College.
