Communities in Rockland County are in a unique position to move forward with Complete Streets policies and pilot projects. Coordinated municipal leadership and implementation could have a significant impact on Rockland’s ability to achieve the County-wide goal of promoting safer streets and better mobility options, while also increasing tourism and economic development. Through education and outreach efforts, Complete Streets policies can be adopted and best practices incorporated into design strategies that can safely accommodate all users and increase connections. This educational session will provide insight on these topics, as well as discuss funding for implementation, and provide toolkit resources that can be tailored for each municipality’s needs. Attendance at this FREE event will provide three hours of training for each municipal Planning or Zoning Board of Appeals members towards their annual four-hour State training requirement.
