Lead Poisoning and Prevention Outreach

In collaboration with the Rockland County health department CCE is helping to raise awareness of lead hazards.

The recent toy recalls has significantly raised public awareness on the hazards of products with lead-based paint. However, the most common source of lead exposure is from cracking, peeling, chipping or otherwise deteriorating lead-based paint and dust particles. If you live in a house or apartment built before 1978 your family maybe at risk.

Remember to ask your doctor if your child has been tested for lead at ages 1 and 2!
