Water usage in Rockland spikes in the summer when residents pour, sprinkle and spray millions of gallons of water on their lawns and gardens. Learn what it means to effectively and responsibly water the lawn and save water and money at the same time. The Rockland Water Task Force and CCE Rockland are hosting the Water Conservation and Sustainable Lawns panel to help homeowners understand options for successful management of their landscape. This free event will be held on Wednesday, October 18 from 7 pm to 9 pm at West Nyack Library. Local experts will discuss the growth cycle for turf, how to best use and maintain various irrigation options and the role of native plants in water conservation.
