Lecture Description:
Do you want to know more about native plants? Michael Hagen will discuss the best, “no fuss” native plants to use in a home garden. They provide needed food and habitat for butterflies, bees and other pollinators. He will share their ecological benefits such as reduced water requirements and minimal need for fertilizer and pesticides.


About the Presenter:
Michael Hagen is the New York Botanical Garden’s Curator of the Native Plant Garden and the Rock Garden. He previously served as Staff Horticulturist for Stonecrop Gardens in Cold Spring, NY and Garden Manager at Rocky Hills, in Mt. Kisco, a preservation project of the Garden Conservancy.
